Qizhi Mao 


 

MAO Qizhi was born in May 1952. State Certified Urban Planner.

 

Dr.Eng.(Tsinghua Uni.), M.I.P.(Stuttgart Uni.), M.Eng.(Tsinghua Uni.), B.A.(Zhejiang Uni.).

 

He is professor in urban and rural planning of Tsinghua University, and as Deputy Director of Center for Science of Human Settlements, and Deputy Director of Institute of Architectural and Urban Studies at Tsinghua University; Academician,International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (IEAS).

 

His professional affiliation and activities includes: Consultant of Urban and Rural Planning Consultative Committee, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development; Deputy Director, Urban-Rural Planning Standardization National Committee; Deputy Director, Urban Planning Specialty Steering Committee of the National Colleges and Universities, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development; Executive member, China Society for Urban Studies, and Deputy Director, Chinese Historical and Cultural Cities Council; Deputy Director, Key Laboratory of Eco Planning & Green Building, Ministry of Education (Tsinghua University). He is Executive Editor-in-chief of The State of China’s Cities, Associate Chief-editor (Executive) of China City Planning Review, Executive Deputy Chief-editor of China Urban Development Report.

 

He was elected as Vice President of the World Society for Ekistics (WSE) in 2005 and 2008, and has received the Outstanding Science & Technology Worker of China in 2010, the First Prize of Excellent Rural Planning & Design, and Gold Prize of National Excellent Project Design from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
